Why order matters

Most players want power on day one. Power is the top of the pyramid, and it collapses without the layers underneath it.

  1. Consistency — rally tolerance. Ball in, every time.
  2. Handle challenge — pace, height, and pressure without breaking down.
  3. Move opponent — time and space tactics.
  4. Develop spin — shape and control.
  5. Spin to win — weaponized spin on serve and approach.
  6. Power — earned, last.

Running alongside all six: receiving and sending skills, technique matched to the player's age and stage, mental skill development, honest assessment of strengths and weaknesses, and athleticism and movement.

Consistency never stops improving. It runs the full height of the pyramid.
